“Cognitive Dissonance – 101” …Blog.
Definition: In psychology, ‘Cognitive Dissonance’
is the excessive mental stress and discomfort experienced by an individual: who
holds ‘Two or More’ Contradictory Beliefs, Ideas, and/or Values at the… “Same Time”.
Dr. Alan Redpath told a story of a man… who claimed he was ‘Dead’. He introduced
him to a MD friend of his; who promptly asked the man, “Do Dead People Bleed”…?
The response was, “NO!” Before the man could say anything further, He took out
a needle and pierced his finger and it began to “Bleed!” He then asked the man,
Do You STILL believe that You are Dead? Immediately the man said, “Well, now I
know that: “Dead People can Bleed”…! This is an example of “Cognitive
Dissonance” and still when presented with “Physical Empirical Evidence”, he
refused to believe the Truth! Of course, Psychology always tries and explain
away… “SIN/SINS” [Root/Fruit]… but never comes close to what God says in His
Holy Word: “The Bible”…!

When God’s Covenant People Israel… were given the “10 Commandments”… they
responded in about the same way. They were willing to hear Moses: but did NOT
want to Hear God! This has been the problem of mankind throughout all Time! Today,
we hear such ‘jaded philosophy’ on the news: which holds more LIES than Truth!
This same “CD” is that which brought about labor unions. Years ago, American
car manufactures gave way to Imports: which have typically had better value
& less engineering problems. Why is it that Import cars can provide a… “10
year / 100,000 mile warranty”… and American cars “Cannot?” How is it that our
national debt is MORE Than… “$17,000,000,0100 Trillion Dollars”… which our
grandchildren will end up paying? Yet our government continues “Spending &
Printing” worthless currency towards Oblivion…! I believe that Forest Gump’s
Mother said it best… “Stupid Is as
Stupid Does”…!

This above Scripture… “2Peter3:15-16”… is a good example of “Cognitive
Dissonance”… by a “Rebellious Mankind!” God does Not wish that any should
perish, but that all would come to Repentance! He gives ‘each & every’ one
of us Repentance: “2Timothy 2:25-26”… but it is “Rejected by Most!” This
Rebellion against GOD was passed onto us by ‘Adam & Eve’ and though our
human parents. In addition, Satan gives an additional… “Spiritual Blindness”…
to those whom have “Continually Rejected”… the Grace, Love & Mercy of God…!
May I simply ask, “What have You done with Christ Jesus and His Holy Word: “The
Bible”…? IF You did Not understand His calling on your LIFE: did You at least: “Ask
Him about IT”…?

I had someone… say
to me, “What about those that ‘do not’ come to Christ, did Christ die for their
sins also…? Is there a ‘Limited Atonement’… only for those that come to Christ
Jesus? Absolutely Yes! Perhaps I may share with you my understanding of this
fact?
1. I give you a check for… “10,000 dollars!”

me and ‘Never’ cash that check!
3. You think
that it is charity but I tell you it is ‘grace’ with no strings attached.
4. Still… you
want to succeed on your own, with the help of no one.
5. You die…!
6. Your heirs
close your estate and find my check to you for the money.
7. They go to
the Bank… and try and cash my check, made out to you.
8. The bank
informs them… sorry the person is Dead; and the funds are “Non-Transferable!”
That is
a ‘word picture’…
of “Salvation”. God calls “All” mankind to Himself. Many refuse His gift of
Grace in payment for their… “Sin / Sins.” Their ‘Refusal’ to cash their check,
the… “Gift of God”… will leave one… without the ‘eternal’ payment for their…
“Sin / Sins!” This… Atonement by Christ Jesus for YOU… is paid for by the…
“Death, Burial and Resurrection of Himself”… But…rejected by You! Where then do
you expect to spend eternity… after spitting in the face of God and refusing
His gift of Grace to you? This is the Gospel… that we communicate as… “Evangelism
= You are Witnesses of these Things…

sanctified, and insults the Spirit of grace?

All the Confusion and… “Cognitive Dissonance”… is dissolved when we are Born Again by
His Holy Spirit AND then take God’s Holy Word: as out ONLY Point of Reference…!
His Truth is our rock of assurance of “Eternal Life” instead of “Eternal
