“Leanness – 101”
No Fat or Low Fat… is the marketing ploy to sell most foodstuffs. Well then this blog must be about food? Sorry, No! It is simply about that ‘inner’ character that we all have. It is who we really are inside and not that, of our profile listed in Facebook or some other Blog site. It has to do with your relationship with “The God of the Bible and His Word”.
We ‘ALL’ have… “Free Will!” We simply, choose, what we want to do or not to do. Most are ‘constrained’ by their finances or lack thereof. Some overspend and then are shackled by their ‘debt’. Others are in bondage to “Booze” or “Illegal Drugs!” Still, it is not an ‘Addiction’, but merely… Your Choice! No one forced you into that choice, as it was of your own doing. You can’t even blame the TV or Videos, let alone your parents or family!
(Romans 6:16) Don't you know = that when you = offer yourselves = to someone = as obedient slaves, = you are slaves of the one you obey = either of sin, = which leads to death, = or = of obedience [To GOD], = which leads to righteousness?
Most will Blame… their problem on, ‘Others’ or on ‘The System’. “Personal Accountability”, has gone out the window. The accountability to any type of authority or boss is vanquished by One’s own, desires and wants. Sort of sounds like… “Adolescent Profiling!” And yet this is the methodology of… ‘Many Adults’.
So is it… in ‘Your LOVE’ relation or ‘lack thereof’ with… “God!”… He has given You, ‘His Word’… “The Bible”. Yet even here in the Bible Belt of the USA, there are many that profess to know God. If they really knew Him, wouldn’t You think that they would… “Read, Study and ‘Obey’… His Word, The Bible?”
(1Corinthians 16:22) If anyone = does not love = the Lord Jesus Christ, = let him be = “Accursed”. = The Lord comes!
To Very Many… “Christianity” is simply a ‘Preference’ and “Not a Practice”. Say it isn’t So? How then do so many, profess to “Know Him” and yet Evil… is increasing ‘each and every’ day? Say it isn’t So? Well then, ‘Please’ tell me, “Why” has there been all this Bailout of Financial Institutions that have ‘Stolen Monies?’ Why has the Illegal Drug Problem increased? Why all the Divorces and family devastations? Why are so many “Babies”… being “Killed”… in their Mother’s Wombs?
Simple Answer: …“Wrong Choices!”
(Psalms 106:15) And He [God] = gave them their request, = But = sent “leanness” = into their soul.
The word “Leanness”… here in this text could even be translated, “FAMINE”. It is your soul that drives your “Desires and Wants”. When You… “Reject God and His Word”, He does not affect your Free Will! It will Always, be your choice to choose… ‘Good or Evil’ = ‘Right or Wrong’ = “To do or Not to do!” It will always be… Simply, “Your Own Choice!”
Why the Soul…? And ‘Why’ would God allow us to make such choices? Again it is your “Free Will!” It is even your choice to… “Love Him in Obedience to Him” = or = to “Hate Him in Disobedience to His Word!” What, you say… “I don’t Hate GOD!” …Sorry, You cannot have it both ways! You cannot Love Him, and then “NOT… Obey His Word!”
(Matthew 7:17-to-20) Even so every = good tree = brings forth = good fruit; = but = a corrupt tree = brings forth = evil fruit.
(Matt 7:18) A good tree = cannot bring forth = evil fruits, = nor = can a corrupt tree = bring forth = good fruit.
(Matt 7:19) Every tree = that does not = bring forth = good fruit = is cut down = and thrown into the fire.
(Matt 7:20) Therefore = by = their fruits = you shall = know them.
“The Riches of the Soul”… are found in “God’s Word!” He uses “His Word”, to feed His children. It is ‘Only’, by the “Word of God”, do we really get to “Know God!” That “Knowledge of God”, is more than the simple ‘head knowledge’ about Him. The religious leaders of Jesus’ day had only had a ‘cursory’ knowledge about God… Not one of the ‘Heart’. It is the “Religion of mankind” that sets himself… ‘Above and Against… “God and His Word!”
(Matthew 15:8-9) 'These people = honor Me = with their lips, = but = their hearts = are far from = Me.
(Matt 15:9) Their worship = of Me = is empty, = because = they teach human rules = as doctrines.'"
This is the “Leanness of Soul”… that the Scriptures speak about. When you “Choose” to disobey the “Word of God”, you are given a… “Famine from ‘The Righteousness’ of God”… in your Soul! Say it isn’t so? Do you… “Love the Word of God, The Bible?” If you do ‘Not’… then you have a… “Famine of Soul!” How can one say that they ‘Love God’… and then Not Love… “His Word?”
(James 1:22) Keep on being = Doers = of The Word, = and = Not = merely hearers = Who = ‘Deceive’ themselves.
(Hebrews 10:14-to-17) For by = a single offering = He has perfected = for all time = those = who are being sanctified.
(Heb 10:15) The Holy Spirit = also assures us of this. = For He said,
(Heb 10:16) "This is the covenant = that I will make with them = after those days, = declares the Lord: = I will put = My laws = in their hearts = and = will write them = on their minds,"
(Heb 10:17) And, = "I will = never again = remember their sins = and = their lawless deeds."
