*** (John 17:17) Sanctify them through Your Truth. Your Word is Truth.
*** (1John 5:6) This is He who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water only, but by the water and blood. And the [Holy] Spirit is He; Who bears witness; because the Spirit is the Truth.
*** (Romans 8:9) But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ; he is 'none' of His.
First a Question…? From where did ‘You’ get your; ‘Present understanding of Forgiveness?’ Was it from a Preacher; a Church; a Friend… or… did ‘You’ get it from; the “Holy Word of God”…? ‘All’ other reference points are ‘Null & Void’… as the ‘Scriptures’ tell us that; “The Word of God is Truth!” Infallible human beings ‘cannot’ understand God’s Word… ‘Unless’ they are “Born Again by God’s Holy Spirit”…! The Holy Spirit moved men ‘to write’ the Scriptures… hence… we can ‘only’ understand Scripture… as God’s Holy Spirit; ‘reveals’ them to us. That is why… “Unless a person is Born Again”… by God’s Holy Spirit… he or she… will “Mock the ‘Complete Authority’ of God’s Holy Word!” Without Gods’ reference point… His Scriptures… we have “No Idea” of = “What ‘Forgiveness’ Really Is”…! Sure, someone may say… “Christ died on the cross for our SIN/SINS”… but do they ever “Identify what ‘Sin’ - Really Is”…?
*** (John 7:38-39) The one who believes in Me [Jesus]; as the Scripture has said, will have rivers of living water flowing from his heart."
(John 7:39) Now he said this about the [Holy] Spirit; Whom those who were believing in Him were to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit was not yet present, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. [Luke 24:49 & Acts 2:1-4]
*** (John 3:6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(John 3:7) Do not marvel that I [Jesus] said to you; You ‘must’ be born again.
*** (2Peter 1:20-21) knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being; of its own private interpretation.
(2Pet 1:21) For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man; but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.
*** (1Corinthains 2:10-to-14) But God has revealed them to us by His [Holy] Spirit; for the [Holy] Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
(1Co 2:11) For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of man within him? So also no one knows the things of God; except the Spirit of God.
(1Co 2:12) But we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit from God; so that we might ‘know’ the things that are freely given to us by God.
(1Co 2:13) These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches; but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
(1Co 2:14) But the natural man does ‘Not’ receive the things of the Spirit of God; for they are ‘foolishness’ to him; neither can he ‘know’ them; because they are spiritually discerned.

The next question is… “What is Sin”…? One cannot understand ‘Forgiveness’… unless one understands what… “SIN/SINS”… really is. Perhaps when you were a child, you were told that; It is a ‘Sin’ to waste food; so ‘You’ have to finish your vegetables! Or, if you don’t go to Church on Sunday, it is a ‘Sin’! Perhaps even your preacher said something from the pulpit about Not Tithing… that it was a ‘Sin’… not to give back to God! Yes, even ‘You’ have adapted your lifestyle… and made ‘accommodations’ for; what “You call: Sin.” But what does God ‘call’… “SIN/SINS”… in His Holy Word, the Bible…? Do ‘You’ really know; or do ‘You’ even want to Know…? “IF” you don’t’ know what SIN/SINS is… “THEN”…how can ‘You’ = “Understand Forgiveness”…? “SIN is the Root”… “Sins are the Fruit!”
*** (1John 5:17) All unrighteousness is sin; and there is a sin not to death.
*** (Proverbs 24:9) The thought of foolishness is sin; and the scorner is hateful to men.
*** (James 4:17) Therefore to him who knows to do good; and does not do it’ to him it is sin.
*** (Mat 7:23) And then I [Jesus] will say to them; I ‘never’ knew you! Depart from Me, those working ‘lawlessness!’
*** (Psalms 90:8) You have set our ‘iniquities’ [lawlessness] before You; our ‘secret’ sins in the light of Your face.
*** (2Ch 12:14) And he did the ‘Evil’; “Because” he ‘did not’ prepare his heart; to seek Jehovah [God].
*** (Psalms 19:12-13) Who can understand his ‘errors’? Oh make me pure from ‘secret’ faults;
(Psalms 19:13) and keep Your servant back from ‘presumptuous’ sins; do not let them ‘rule’ over me; then I shall be upright, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.
*** (James 2:10) For whoever shall ‘keep’ the whole Law; and yet ‘offend’ in one point; he is ‘guilty’ of – “ALL!”
*** (Mark 10:11) So He [Jesus] said to them; “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman ‘commits adultery’ against her.
(Mark 10:12) And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another man; she ‘commits’ adultery.”
*** (1Corinthains 6:18-19-20) Keep on running away from sexual immorality. Any other sin that a person commits is outside his body, but the person who sins sexually sins against his own body.
(1Cor 6:19) You know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you; Whom you have received from God, don't you? You do ‘not’ belong to yourselves,
(1Cor 6:20) because you were bought for a price. Therefore, glorify God with your bodies.
*** (Matthew 5:28) But I [Jesus] say to you; anyone who stares at a woman with ‘lust’ for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
*** (Romans 2:15) who show the work of the Law; written in their hearts; their ‘conscience’ also bearing witness; and the thoughts between one another; ‘accusing’ or even ‘excusing’ one another,
There are “Thousands” of such Bible verses… throughout the Scriptures! Ignorance of such… does not absolve ‘You’ of their “Violation!’ Well, then GOD sees All… “SIN/SINS”… as a violation of… “His Holy Word; His Law; His Statutes; His Precepts; His Ordinances; His Commandments and the Like!” How than can Anyone ‘say’… one sin is worse; than any other sin! Since Gods’ requirement for Heaven is: “Perfection”… how then can; Any ‘finite sinful human being’… “Ever be right before God”…? Your secret sins; yes those thoughts in your heart… even your hatred for another; is “SIN!” Most who say they have been Christians for some time; do not understand these facts! Falling short of God’s… “Requirement for Perfection”… will earn one; Eternal Damnation in the “Lake of Fire!” You must be ‘Perfect’; to enter heaven! You must be as ‘Perfect’ as; Christ Jesus…! How is that Possible…? That is the ‘Secret’ of Forgiveness…! There are “TWO” types of Forgiveness…! “Positional - & - Practical [Practice]!”
*** (Matthew 5:48) “So be ‘perfect’; as your heavenly Father is ‘perfect’.”
*** (2Corinthians 5:17) So that if ‘anyone’ is in Christ; that one is a ‘new’ creature; old things have passed away; behold, ‘all’ things have become new.
*** (1John 5:18-19-20) We know that ‘everyone’ who has been born [again] of God; does ‘Not’ continue to sin; but the one born of God; ‘guards’ himself; and the evil one ‘does not’ touch him.
(1Jn 5:19) We know that we are of God; and ‘all’ the world lies in ‘evil’.
(1Jn 5:20) And we know that the Son of God has come; and He has ‘given’ us an “Understanding” so that we may ‘know’ Him, Who is True. And we are ‘in’ Him [God] that is True; ‘in’ His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God; and the everlasting life.
*** (Hebrews 10:10) By this will we are sanctified; through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ = ONCE FOR ALL [Time].
(Heb 10:11) And indeed every [OT Levitical] priest stands daily ministering; and offering ‘often’ the same sacrifices; which can ‘Never’ take away sins.
(Heb 10:12) But this Man [Christ Jesus]; after He had offered = ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS = ‘FOREVER’; sat down on the right of God,
(Heb 10:13) from then on expecting until His enemies; are made His footstool.
(Heb 10:14) For by ONE offering = He has PERFECTED = FOREVER = those who are ‘sanctified’.

This Positional… “Once for ‘All’ Time & Eternity Sacrifice”… was “Paid in Full”… and “Credited to the Account”… of ‘All’ those; that come to Christ Jesus… ‘Only’… on His Terms; John 7:38-39! Most who rely on others; for their information about “Forgiveness”… do ‘Not’ realize… “Christ’s payment of SIN/SINS”… was for… “All Time & Eternity!” When Christ Jesus said… “IT IS FINISHED”… then died and rose again… that was Over ‘2,000’ years ago. All your “SIN/SINS”… where in the ‘Future!’ For those in Christ… God does ‘Not’ see our SIN/SINS… but they are Covered by the Blood of Christ Jesus! We in “Christ JESUS”… are “Perfect” before God… “Positionally!” Right away someone will say… “What happens when we Sin; and then do ‘Not’ confess it and forsake it”…? Remember this… “GOD the Father”… “Spanks His ‘Disobedient’ Children”…! My next question is… “Do YOU want to be Spanked [Chastened] by GOD”…? “Do ‘You’ need a ‘Whipping’ from God”…? You may get away with SIN/SINS… in front of mankind… but God sees your… “HEART!” Do ‘You’ really think you can… “Fool Him”…? Do ‘You’… “Fear God”…? One ‘cannot’ Love Jesus… ‘without’ the Fear of God…! Sinful mankind does ‘Not’ even respect one another; let alone the “Infinite God of All!”
*** (2Corinthains 7:1) Then having these promises, dearly beloved; let us ‘cleanse’ ourselves from ‘all’ defilements of flesh and spirit; perfecting holiness in the ‘fear’ of God.
