“Accusatory – 101”…Blog.
Recently someone… asked me if there are any… “Accusatory Verses”… in the Bible. It is ‘Loaded’ with them, as God has ‘Warned all of Mankind’. Perhaps I may share some with you? First please allow me to explain what is meant by… “Accusatory!” It is a verse that deals with a particular wrong or “Sin / Sins”. Always it is meant to warn… so that ‘One’ will… “Repent”.
Here in America… we Mostly have a… ‘Cultural Christianity’… and not a practicing one. In other words, they believe in “God”… much as they believe in… “Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny and the Cleveland Indians”. No, I am not trying to be funny, but profoundly practical. IF the people of our nation really believed in God, their actions would be righteous and not immoral.
(James 2:19) You believe that there is = one God. = That's fine! = Even the demons believe that = and tremble with fear.
Does their belief… in God change their reaction to Him and His Word? Absolutely Not! They are still in “Rebellion against Him”, and under Satan the… “Father of Lies!” Real Belief in God, changes one’s actions… so that they “Obey God and His Word the Bible”. Those that only have a ‘head belief’, only choose to acknowledge God, with a mental ascent, as they do with “Santa!”

According to one poll… of Pastors, Bible School and Seminaries Teachers… less than 35%... of the “Ten Thousand Polled”… believed in the “Inherency and Infallible Authority”… of the Bible. That means that 65% did NOT believe the Scripture to be ‘True’ and ‘without error’. If that many did not really believe the Bible, why then… did they remain in that ‘career position?’
(John 12:43) For they loved = the praise of people = more than = the praise of God.
Recently a girl… asked me for a ride when I was parked at a gas station. The first question she asked was, “Are you a Cop?” I replied No, I am not. The she proceeded to ask me if I wanted a Date? I replied, ‘thank you but no thank you’. She was a prostitute. She proceeded to tell me that she was available. I told her that I was a Christian and “God’s Holy Spirit”… lived inside me.
And to my surprise… ‘She said she was one too!’ I asked her, how could you do that as a Christian? She simply said, ‘God forgives me!’ Needles to say I took her to a store down the road and dropped her off. Most today simply “Excuse Sin” and then say that God ‘Forgives’ them. I have known others, even some ‘churched’ that have…“Excused away Sin” as ‘God’s Grace’.
Here in America… Most ‘think and believe’ that God gives them a, ‘Blanket Forgiveness’ and then, they live like they want to. The Bible speaks to that as… “License”. Turning the “Grace of God” into… ‘the freedom to sin and then to be forgiven’. But the Bible says that God “SPANKS”… His real children when they Sin. It even says that if you claim to be His child and ‘Sin’ and “He” doesn’t… “Spank You”… then you are… “Illegitimate = A Bastard!”
· (Hebrews 12:6-7-8) For the Lord disciplines = the one He loves, = and = He punishes = every son = He accepts."
· (Heb 12:7) What you endure = is for the sake = of discipline. = God is treating you = as sons. = Is there a son whom his father does not discipline?
· (Heb 12:8) Now = if you = are without = any discipline, = in which all sons share, = = then you are illegitimate = and not His sons.
Those verse sound… “Accusatory” to me, do they also sound so to you? Perhaps I may share some more verses. Do they ‘Accuse’ a person or persons of a particular lifestyle of sin or sins? Remember the Bible contains “God’s Truth”, not man’s truth. “But that is the… ‘TRUTH’… that God shares with All Mankind… to bring them to Jesus for Salvation!”
· (John 17:17) Sanctify them = by the Truth. Your Word = is Truth.
· (2Timothy 3:16) All Scripture = is God-breathed = and is useful = for = teaching, = for = reproof, = for = correction, = and for = training = in righteousness,
· (2Tim 3:17) so that = the man of God = may be = complete = and = thoroughly equipped = for = every good work.
What I like to do is… ‘To Illustrate’… “Scripture, as sort of a Road Sign”. Most of us who drive have seen such signs. Many times, road signs are need for those that are not familiar with a particular street or intersection. Most of us have seen someone going the wrong way on a ‘one-way’ street. Enough beeping of the horns and that person turns around or gets off of that street.
Doctrine = Right Way.
Reproof = Wrong Way.
Correction = Turn Around.
Training = One Way.
As far as… “Accusatory” Bible verses, here are some. When we ‘read and study’ the Bible it accuses us of our sin. If we are God’s Child, we can then Confess and Forsake… that Sin and Not do it Again. On the other hand… ‘Many’ have… “Excused away Sin”… and then called it… ‘The Grace of God.’ What did Jesus say His Word did for His in… “John 15:3?”
(Acts 17:30-31) Though God = has overlooked = those times of ignorance, = He = now commands = everyone = everywhere = To Repent,
(Acts 17:31) for He = has set a day = when He = is going to judge = the world = with justice = through a man = He has appointed, = and = He has given = proof of this = to everyone = by raising Him [Jesus] = from the dead."
(Luke 17:3) Take heed to yourselves. If your brother trespasses against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him.
(Ephesians 4:28) The thief must no longer steal but must work hard and do what is good with his own hands, so that he might have something to give to the needy.
(Romans 6:16) Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey-either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
(1Timothy 1:20) Among these are Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan so that they may learn not to blaspheme.
(2Timothy 4:14) Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will pay him back for what he did.
(Galatians 3:1-2) You foolish Galatians! Who put you under a spell? Was not Jesus Christ clearly portrayed as crucified before your very eyes?
(Gal 3:2) I want to learn only one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law or by believing what you heard?
(Galatians 2:11) But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly wrong.
(1Corinthians 5:1-2) It is actually reported that sexual immorality exists among you, and of a kind that is not found even among the gentiles. A man is actually living with his father's wife!
(1Cor 5:2) And you are being arrogant instead of being filled with grief and seeing to it that the man who did this is removed from among you.
(1Corinthians 6:1-to-5) Do any of you dare, when you have a matter against another, to go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
(1Cor 6:2) Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
(1Cor 6:3) Do you not know that we shall judge angels, not to mention the things of this life?
(1Cor 6:4) If, then, you truly have judgments of the things of this life, set those who are least esteemed in the church to judge.
(1Cor 6:5) For I speak to your shame. Is it so that there is not a wise one among you, not even one in your midst who shall be able to judge between his brother?
(1Corinthians 11:28-to-31) A person must examine himself and then eat the bread and drink from the cup.
(1Cor 11:29) For the one who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
(1Cor 11:30) That's why so many of you are weak and sick and a considerable number are dying.
(1Cor 11:31) But if we judged ourselves correctly, we would not be judged.
(2John 1:10-11) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, nor speak a greeting to him.
(2John 1:11) For he who speaks a greeting to him is partaker of his evil deeds.
(2Peter 2:19-to-22) Promising them freedom, they themselves are slaves to depravity, for a person is a slave to whatever conquers him.
(2Pet 2:20) For if, after escaping the world's corruptions through a full knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and conquered by them, then their last condition is worse than their former one.
(2Pet 2:21) It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and turn their backs on the holy commandment that was committed to them.
(2Pet 2:22) The proverb is true that describes what has happened to them: "A dog returns to its vomit," and "A pig that is washed goes back to wallow in the mud."
(1Corinthians 16:22) If = anyone = does not love = the Lord Jesus Christ, = let him = be accursed. = The Lord comes!
